Reports to:           Offshore Installation Manager
Location:              Offshore - Black Sea (Russian Federation)
Rotation:              56 days “on” / 28 days “off”
Working Hours:     12 hours  / day
Daily Rate:           To be advised
Other Details:       Accommodation, Travel, Insurance and Medical provided by the client
Start Date:           End February - Beginning of March 2010
            

JOB DESCRIPTION

Basic Function:
The Field Engineer will report to the Offshore Manager.  On assigned projects by the Offshore Manger, he will report to the Superintendent and Project engineer assigned to the project he is working on and have specific responsibility for preparation of installation procedures and execution plan.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Prepares field installation manuals on assigned projects for use by pipeline or derrick barge superintendent.
Prepares load-out drawings; monitors offshore material barge load-outs of platforms, pipelines or other material in fabrication yard.
Coordinates on-site platform installations and pipeline operations by assisting the derrick barge or pipeline superintendent.
Performs work in conjunction with structural installations; determines pipeline position and profile during construction in order to inform operations personnel and customer of progress; and monitors laying stresses during installation.
Prepares and submits post-job analysis of assigned projects for review by management.
Provides technical assistance to the company’s operational personnel and the customer’s representative.
Checks and interprets drawings for superintendent’s and/or barge foreman during installation of offshore platforms with regard to orientation of platforms, boat landings and risers.
During a structural installation the field engineer will monitor pile-driving records, verify that the pile cutoffs are made at the correct elevation, verify jacket levelness and verify final laydown measurement for accuracy.
Performs calculations to determine proper rigging is used; ensures the approved factors of Safety are fulfilled for lifting, and quality control measures are ensured.

Education:
Universal or higher technical degree in civil or relevant engineering

Others:
Good communication skills and proper knowledge of the English language.

Experience:
Minimum of 2 year experience preferably in oil and gas industry.
