Position:               Barge Master (Pipe-laying)
Reports to:           Offshore Instalation Manager 
Location:              Offshore - Black Sea (Russian Federation)
Rotation:              56 days “on” / 28 days “off”
Working Hours:     12 hours  / day
Daily Rate:           To be advised
Other Details:       Accommodation, Travel, Insurance and Medical provided by the client
Start Date:           End February - Beginning of March 2010
            

JOB DESCRIPTION

Basic Function:
In charge of marine operations of the barge.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Besides his responsibilities for supervision and incitement (maintenance of the Barge by the various services, right execution of works for which the Ship has been freighted) he directly manages the naval operations (anchoring and towing)
Determines and triggers necessary actions for class keeping and up-dating of certificates (national or from survey society)
Assumes administrative works deriving from the flag state or international laws, or with which he has been entrusted by the Owner or the manager of the Ship
Supervises Medic and Catering manager as direct responsible for health, safety and welfare
Assist the Superintendent with his nautical knowledge during construction / pipe lay operations
Investigate and report non-conformities, accidents, near-misses and hazardous operations to the management

Education:
Master all ships certificate

Others:
Demonstrate commitment to the Company safety policies by frequent discussions, review, consultations, risk analysis and audit made on the Pipelay-Construction Barge

Experience:
Minimum of 10 year experience preferably in oil and gas industry.
