Location:              Offshore - Black Sea (Russian Federation)
Rotation:              56 days “on” / 28 days “off”
Working Hours:     12 hours  / day
Daily Rate:           To be advised
Other Details:       Accommodation, Travel, Insurance and Medical provided by the client

JOB DESCRIPTION

Basic Function:
In charge of positioning of anchors and setting up the barge for construction operations.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Works in conjunction with the Barge Foreman, supervises the Tower Operators and liaises with the positioning crew ensuring that all personnel directly reporting to him are suitably trained for the work that they are carrying out and are working according to Safety rules of the concerned area.
Monitors position of the barge in repositioning anchors onto the seabed with Anchor Handling Tugs (AHT) in order for the barge to maintain heading and bearing as barge lays the pipeline, final laydown and moving location.
Directs the AHT’s to their respective anchor positions, making use of information from anchor plans, field charts, radar and other information given by client or surveyors.
Monitors pipelines and underwater obstructions when using midline buoy to keep clear of obstructions.
Monitors the conditions of slings, pennant wires, buoys, winches, etc for wear and tear and any other malfunctions and changes out or repairs as necessary.
Liaise with the Barge master when adverse weather conditions arise.
Co-ordinates ay preventive maintenance activity onboard the AHT’s with the Tug Captains and Barge Master.
Conducts toolbox meetings with his Tower Operators

Others:
Extensive knowledge of all marine equipment capabilities and limitations. Good communication skills and proper knowledge of the English language.

Experience:
Minimum of 10 years experience preferably in oil and gas industry in a similar role.
